Displays daily lithium dose schedule, as assigned by a physician using the MedsReducer-Physician App. Before using the app contact your doctor to verify that the dose you have been sent is the one you are supposed to take. The lithium schedule may be a fixed daily amount or may vary from day to day on a short cycle, that is no longer than five days. The schedule will display exactly what lithium pills to take and when to take them at each time of the day. There is a screen that displays “todays” lithium dose by pill and time of day, as well as a screen that displays the same information over several dates, which can be used to fill pill cases.
How to use MedsReducer-Patient
1. Once MedsReducer-Patient App is downloaded to a mobile device the user will be required to register. Registration requires filling in simple information such as email, name, and a password.
2. Once registered users just need to log in using email and password to use MedsReducer-Patient.
3. The main screen displays the schedule for “todays” lithium dose. It will display exactly what lithium pill and time of day for each dose. This schedule may be the same for each day or may vary from day to day on a short cycle no longer than five days. If no lithium dose has been prescribed by a physician using MedsReducer-Physician the screen will indicate that there are no prescribed dosages. See section below on permitting Physicians to assign dosages and section on retrieving prescribed dosages.
Permitting Physician to assign dosage using MedsReducer-Physician
1. For a physician to be able to assign a dosage to the MedsReducer-Patient App the physician must be given permission. Use the “Physician List” button found on the Profile page, by selecting the bottom right button on the main page.
2. This page lists the Id’s of all physicians that the App will accept prescriptions from. Obtain the Physician’s Id from your physician and enter it at the bottom of this page. Physicians can help to setup this page.
3. Physician Id’s can be added or removed at any time.
4. Adding a Physician Id to this list provides permission for the MedsReducer-Patient App to retrieve to your phone any prescription assigned by the selected physicians.
Retrieving Dose Assignments
Lithium doses as prescribed from a physician using MedsReducer-Physician, are retrieved in the following 3 ways:
1. When logging in there is an automatic check for new assigned prescriptions.
